Admins can set up QR codes and NFC tags on any resource for check-ins and bookings. QR codes and NFC tags are one way employees check in locally when on-site check-ins are mandatory. You can also set up automated check-ins as another local check-in option.
Before you start
This article assumes that you already:
- Purchased stickers. Robin admins can order stickers in the web dashboard (Manage > Stickers).
- Configured resources on maps.
- Turned on resource check-ins (flexible and/or assigned).
Setting up check-in stickers
Set up and manage the QR/NFC tags for resources in the mobile app. The QR/NFC stickers are 2-inch () squares.
Associating a sticker with a resource
- In the mobile app, go to the Map tab and select a resource.
- Select Add sticker. The camera opens.
- Use the camera to scan QR code.
- Select done.
Robin links the sticker to the resource and shows the sticker # in the resource details.
Replacing a sticker on a resource
- In the mobile app, go to the Map tab and select a resource.
- Select Manage.
- Select Replace. The camera opens.
- Use the camera to scan new QR code.
- Select done.
The new sticker # shows in the resource details.
Removing a sticker from a resource
- In the mobile app, go to the Map tab and select a resource.
- Select Manage.
- Select Remove.
Robin removes the sticker/QR code, and it no longer shows.
Sticker summary
The sticker summary (Manage tab > Stickers) shows how many stickers you purchased, how many resources have stickers and where those resources are.
To see which resources have stickers in more detail, open the Layout tool with the floor link under the building drop-down (shown below).
Layout tool summary
In the Layout tool, resources with stickers have an icon in the lower right corner. The floor overview shows the number of resources with stickers.
When you select a resource group, the right panel shows the sticker number for each resource on the "Details" tab.

Abandoned resource protection tip
Admins can turn on abandoned resource protection when they configure the stickers. If "Local check-in only" is enabled, Robin recommends a buffer in the abandoned resource protection threshold. This gives people enough time to get to their physical resource and check in before Robin cancels the reservation.
Enable for resource group
- On the Map search page, go to the Edit floor drop-down menu on the map > Layout.
- Select a group of resources with your cursor.
-
Select the Policies tab, then turn on the Local check-in only policy in the menu on the right.
