Map layers on the office map

Customize your office map view

Map layers give you control over what your office map shows. Use the map filters to focus on what matters to you, whether you are an admin, on the facilities team or checking desk reservations.

Choose which labels, points of interest (POIs) and avatar layers you see. Fit the map view to your role and tasks, and reduce visual clutter.

Why use map layers

Every organization uses the office map differently. Some teams focus on occupancy and reservations. Others focus on logistics or amenities. With map layers, each user can build a view that fits their daily work.

Map layers help you:

  • Choose which information appears on your map, based on your goals.
  • Hide labels and data you do not need, to focus on what is important.
  • Switch between views for different tasks.

Common use cases

These examples show a suggested view for 3 common use cases.

Office administrators

Admins often need a high-level overview of desk usage. Their goal is to see who sits where.

Suggested view: hide POIs and pod names, and show all users. This gives a clear bird's-eye view of office occupancy, by floor.

Organizations moving to neighborhoods

Teams that move from pod names to neighborhoods can remove repeated labels from their map view. Their goal is consistent, clear labels.

Suggested view: hide pod names and show only Neighborhood labels. This helps avoid confusion and supports the new naming.

Facilities teams

Facilities staff need a quick view of infrastructure and amenities, not user data. Their goal is to monitor points of interest (POIs) such as restrooms, printers and equipment.

Suggested view: hide user and desk assignment layers, and show only POIs and key location markers. This gives a functional snapshot of the office layout.
