When someone swipes their badge to enter the office, Robin checks them in to what they booked in that building. They do not need to open the Robin app.
What a badge swipe checks in
- Desks: desk reservations in that building that start in the next 6 hours. This works even before the desk check-in window opens.
- Other resources: parking spots, lockers and other resources booked in that building.
- Office visits: if the person has no booking, Robin still records that they came in. The visit shows in attendance analytics.
The check-in shows as Confirmed onsite, so admins can tell it apart from a Remote check-in from the app or the web. Wi-Fi check-in works the same way.
A badge swipe does not confirm meetings. For meetings, use room check-in.
Before you start
- You need admin access in Robin.
- People must use the same email address in Robin and in your access control system. Robin uses it to match a swipe to a person.
Connect your access control system
- Go to Manage > Integrations > Access Control.
- Select your system and select Connect.
- Map each door to a building in Robin.
Each system has its own steps:
Is your system not on the list? You can send badge data with the Universal Presence Connector, or upload it with the Badge Data CSV Uploader.
