Get started with Robin in Claude

Robin in Claude lets your employees book desks, find coworkers and plan your office layout by asking Claude in plain language, without switching apps. Robin in Claude and Space Planning in Claude work in Claude on the web and on desktop. Use this checklist to prepare your organization, then roll it out to a pilot group before you announce it to everyone.

Claude can only do what each person can do in Robin. Claude asks for approval before it books, changes or cancels anything, and floor plan changes stay in a draft until someone reviews and publishes them in Robin.

What you can do with Robin in Claude

Robin in Claude supports 2 kinds of work: desk booking for every employee, and space planning for admins. Each person signs in with their own Robin account, so Claude shows only the floors, desks and people they can see in Robin.

Desk booking

Employees can ask Claude to handle their everyday desk reservations:

  • Book a desk on a floor for a day and time.
  • Find desks that are free on a floor or at a time.
  • See the desk reservations they have coming up.
  • Change a reservation, such as extending it to a later end time.
  • Cancel a reservation.
  • Find where a teammate sits.

Space planning

Admins can use Space Planning in Claude to understand their office and test changes before they make them:

  • See how each department is seated across buildings and floors.
  • Find teams that are split across floors, and desks that have nobody assigned.
  • Group the same floor by department, job title or manager.
  • Test "what if" scenarios, such as a team that grows or moves to one floor, as stack plans you can compare.
  • Draft a move as a scenario planning draft, then review and publish it in Robin.
  • Invite coworkers to review a draft as viewers or collaborators.

Admin readiness checklist

Complete these steps before you announce Robin in Claude to your company.

  1. Confirm your company uses Claude. Robin in Claude and Space Planning in Claude work inside Claude on the web and on desktop.
  2. Turn on the Robin connector for your organization. A Claude organization owner or admin adds Robin to the organization's connectors, so your members can connect to it. On Claude Team plans, only Owners and Primary Owners can add a connector. On Enterprise plans, Owners, Primary Owners and custom roles with Manage access to Libraries can add one. For the steps, see Connect Robin to Claude.
  3. Check your Robin permissions and booking rules. The connector acts as each signed-in person, so it follows the same permissions and booking policies as the Robin app. If a rule is wrong in Robin, it is wrong in Claude too. Fix it before you roll out.
  4. Test it yourself. Connect Robin in your own Claude account and ask "What do I have booked this week?" Then book a desk and cancel it.
  5. Choose a pilot group. Robin recommends a pilot group of 10 to 30 people for 1 to 2 weeks before a company-wide announcement. Pick people who already use Claude often.
  6. Choose a champion. Pick one person to answer questions in your team channel and share good prompts. The champion does not need to be an admin.
  7. Decide where questions go. Choose a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel, a help desk queue or your champion. Put that location in every message you send about Robin in Claude.

When your pilot group is ready, send them Connect Robin to Claude so each person can connect their Robin account.
