The Office density dashboard in Desk Insights shows the total number of hot and hotel bookings per day, divided by the total number of hot and hotel desks. A desk counts as “booked” if it has 1 or more confirmed reservations that day. Assigned desks are excluded from this visualization.
To open the dashboard:
- Select the Analytics tab in the web dashboard.
- Select Desk Insights in the left panel.
- Select the Office Density tab at the bottom of the page.

Use the fields at the top of the page to filter by campus, building, floor and date range.
Why it's important
Admins often want to know which days of the week are busy and which are less busy. With this data, admins can ask employees to come in on less busy days. This helps them use the office more efficiently and avoid buying more space they do not need.
Admins can compare each day's density to the average density over the time period they select. This helps them plan social events or all-hands meetings on a day when most employees are in the office. Admins can order fewer lunches on Fridays to match the number of employees who usually come in that day. They can also use the data to confirm changes to office strategy.
How it's calculated
Office density = (hot + hotel confirmed bookings per day) / (hot + hotel desks)
Office Density uses data for hot and hotel desks and excludes assigned desks.
