Robin launched the Workplace Collaboration Score (CollabScore), the first solution to quantify in-person collaboration. The score shows how well your workplace enables collaboration among employees. It also benchmarks your organization anonymously against others around the world.
Companies invest in spaces to bring people together, but had no way to measure if that works. Employees might be in the office but not collaborate. They might sit far apart, or be on video calls in meeting rooms. Without this data, workplace leaders had to guess how to improve office design and function.
How Robin measures the CollabScore
The score has 3 key elements. Robin chose them based on research and on a decade of work with customers:
- Workplace occupancy compares the capacity of a workplace with how many people use it. A higher score means more space is occupied. If a space is too large, people are much less likely to interact with colleagues.
- Ad hoc collaboration measures how close employees sit to one another in the office. A higher score means more employees sit in the same areas, not alone.
- Planned collaboration measures the proportion of in-person meetings to remote meetings, compared with other companies. A higher score means people attend meetings together in person.
See your CollabScore
Robin customers can see their overall company CollabScore, and scores by building*, in analytics in Robin. The score is part of Robin's new suite of executive insights, which support office culture, investment and success.
To make the data more accurate and useful, Robin also added easier ways to bring access control (badge system) data into Robin. Customers can either upload access control data with a CSV file, or integrate their access control system directly with Robin.
