Requirements
- Active Robin user
- Google account
- Integration setting enabled by admin
Robin's Google Calendar Working Location integration syncs your schedule between Robin and Google Calendar, so you update your schedule in one place only. It supports both recurring (set) schedules and one-off office visits. Update your schedule in Robin or in Google Calendar, and both show the same information.
Set up the sync
A Robin Global admin must turn on this integration and complete the location mapping before you start. Admins, see set up Google working location syncing.
After the admin turns on the feature, connect your Google calendar to Robin in your user settings. If you use Google SSO to log in to Robin, your account is already connected, and you can skip this section.
- Go to your user settings in the web dashboard (or mobile app).
- Select Integrations on the left.
-
Select Connect and follow the Google authorization steps.
If your calendar is already connected, select Manage.
-
After you connect your Google calendar account, select Set up next to the "Sync Google Working Locations" setting.
-
Select the calendar where you keep your working location most up to date. This calendar is the "source of truth" for your schedule.
How the sync works
After you turn on the sync, each change to your schedule updates in both Robin and Google. Robin does not sync past reservations. The sync does not cancel any existing desk reservations.
Change your schedule in Robin
Make a change to your Workweek schedule in the Robin web dashboard or mobile app. Then check your work location status in Google Calendar.
Change your schedule in Google
When you update your schedule in Google, select the name of the building (not the "Office label"). If you do not, the sync does not work correctly.
Make a change to your Google Calendar schedule. Then check your Workweek schedule in the Robin web dashboard or mobile app.
