You do not need hardware to use Robin. People can book rooms and desks and invite guests from the web dashboard, the mobile app and the Outlook add-in. Hardware puts Robin where people are: at the room door, in the lobby and on the wall.

What you can add
- Room displays: a tablet outside each meeting room. People see if the room is free, book it and check in.
- Arrival displays and badge printers: a tablet in the lobby where guests check in, and a printer for guest badges.
- Status boards: a large screen that shows a live map of free rooms and desks.
- Desk signs: a small light at each desk that shows if it is free.
- Presence from video devices: Logitech and Neat room devices can tell Robin when people are in a room. Robin then confirms the meeting for them. If you already have these devices, you do not need to buy anything else. See Automatic room check-in with Logitech Sync.

Before you buy
- Operating system: room displays need iOS 13 or Android 5 or later. Badge printing needs an iPad with iPadOS 16 or later.
- Power: plan an outlet or PoE at each door. A tablet on battery alone lasts about 10 hours.
- Network: put each device on Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Put the badge printer on the same network as the iPad, with a static IP address.
- Labels: use Brother Genuine DK-2251 labels. Other labels do not work.
