Parking, lockers & custom resources

You can set up and book parking spots, lockers and custom resources in Robin. Parking spots and lockers are 2 new resource types ready to use. You can also create custom resources for anything else your employees need to book. These resources help you manage what is in your office and make work easier for your employees.

Set up and book parking spots

You can set up parking spots for parking lots and parking garages, and employees book them.

Admins add parking spots with the Parking Spots menu in the Layout tool. For each parking spot, they set the booking type: Reservable, Not reservable or Assigned.

Admins can turn off Allow Overlapping Bookings so that people cannot book 2 parking spots at the same time. You can also restrict parking spots to a role.

Employees book a parking spot in the web dashboard from the office map. They select a parking spot, review the reservation date, time and booking policies, and select Book.

They can change the date, time or parking spot of a reservation from the map. If you have the delegate booking permission, you can also book a parking spot for someone else.

Set up and book lockers

You can set up lockers as bookable resources in your office. Admins set up lockers the same way as parking spots, with the Lockers menu in the Layout tool. They add the locker details and set the scheduling policies. For example, they can turn on Require Check-In so that employees confirm they use the locker they booked.

Employees get a clear way to book and use available lockers. They book a locker in the web dashboard from the office map: they select a locker and select Book. They can book a locker for more than 1 day. If the locker requires check-in, they select Check in on their reservation.

Set up and book custom resources

You can set up custom resources as bookable resources in your office. A custom resource is anything else that people book, such as lab equipment or dog beds.

To add one, an admin selects + Custom Resource in the Layout tool, creates a resource template and places the resources on the map. The Create custom resources permission on the Roles page controls who sees this button. See Key differences for custom resources.

Employees get a clear way to book and use any type of resource that you make bookable or assign. They book a custom resource in the web dashboard the same way as a locker. Admins manage custom resource assignments from the map too: they select the resource and select Manage Assignments.

View all your reservations in Workweek

Employees see all their bookings in one view: desks, events and spaces, parking spots, lockers and custom resources. This view shows your whole work day and the resources you need, so you do not have to search for them.

You find this view in the right sidebar of the Workweek schedule. If you do not see Workweek, ask your customer success manager to turn it on. To open it, go to Schedule > Workweek. Employees see the resource details and reservation times.

To make changes, they select the resource name to go to the map. The menu next to a reservation also has Edit booking and Cancel booking. The sidebar shows only the reservations in the building you select, so switch to another building if you do not see a resource you booked.

Parking spots, lockers and custom resources run on a new backend. It is faster and more stable, and it adds these improvements: new functions in the Layout tool, with new grouping and sub-categories, so people see more clearly which resources are available.
