Deactivate a user to stop them from using your Robin organization without removing them. A deactivated user stays on the People page for admins, and Robin keeps their historical data. A deactivated user does not count toward billing, so you can free up a seat for a new user. For example, deactivate a person who is on sabbatical or on parental leave.
Deactivating a user keeps their reservations active. To remove their reservations, remove the user instead. See Deactivate or remove a user.
To deactivate and reactivate users, you must be an admin or have a role with the People permission set to Edit. You cannot deactivate yourself.
Deactivate a user account
- In the web dashboard, go to Manage > People.
- Hover over the user's status and select Deactivate.
- In the Deactivate this account? dialog, select Deactivate. The user's status changes to Deactivated.
What a deactivated user sees
A deactivated user can no longer open your organization in Robin. They can still sign in to Robin and open their own user settings.
Reactivate a user account
- In the web dashboard, go to Manage > People. To find deactivated users, filter the status to Deactivated.
- Hover over the user's status and select Activate.
- In the Activate this account? dialog, select Reactivate. The user can access your organization again.
If your identity provider deactivated the user through SCIM, reactivate them in your identity provider. See Provision and manage members with SCIM.
Deactivate or remove a user
Deactivating a user keeps them in your organization. Removing a user takes them off the People list. Robin also takes away their roles and groups and ends or cancels their desk reservations in your organization. You cannot remove an owner.
To give a removed user access again, invite them again. See Invite your coworkers.
