Create a custom role, such as "Manager", "Employee" or "Intern", to give the same permissions to many people at once. You give the role to people or groups, and then add permissions to the role. You then manage permissions for the role, not for each person.
Create the role
Only admins can open the Roles page.
-
Go to Manage > Roles.
-
Select Create new role.
-
Enter a Role name and, if you want, a Role description.
-
To start from another role's permissions, choose a role under Copy an existing role. The new role gets the same permissions as that role.
-
Select Save, or select Save and edit to open the role's page.
Give the role to groups or members
After you create the role, give it to the groups or people who need it.
-
On the Roles page, select the name of the role.
-
Under People with this role, select Groups or Members.
-
Select Add groups or Add members.
-
Search for the groups or people, select them, and then select Save.
If you use SCIM
If you use SCIM, give the role to a group after you push users from your directory.
Edit or delete a custom role
You can change the name and description of a custom role, or delete it. You cannot edit or delete the default roles here.
- Go to Manage > Roles.
- Select the check box next to the role.
- Select the pencil icon to edit the role, or the trash icon to delete it.
To change the permissions of a custom role, select the name of the role. You see the role's page, with its permissions.
Next, give the role access to Robin features. See Add permissions to a role.
